Nuclear Energy
is an
independent foundation and not supported by any industry or
nuclear association but by individual support in order to retain our
independence.
Our mission is to influence change in public
opinion towards
knowledgeable citizens about nuclear energy and waste repository
issues.

advancing technology puts Freedom at Risk and

Unfortunately
our world does not recognize
"superstar scientists"
as they do
entertainers.
Our
country needs a new PROGRAM . . "The
Annual Academia Awards"

Our hats are off to
our Contributing Scientists for their
"superstar science"!
Our
report on the American Nuclear Society
Meeting in Reno June 2006!
US Nuclear Energy mailed to 4930 Northern Nevada
residents, businesses, media and casinos. The mailing also contained
an excellent brochure on nuclear energy supplied by the Nuclear
Energy Institute in Washington, DC.
Here are some of our
observations: . . . some great
meetings took place!
About 1250 American Nuclear Society members descend on
Reno for their annual meeting. Scientists, engineers, students and educators
made up the group of attendees.
l
An estimated 60% increase in energy
needs are expected from 2005 to 2030. In oil an increase of 50 million
barrels a day is estimated.
l
The industry needs to create a stronger
public policy response
l
The Department of Energy’s overall goal
is national security for the energy we develop for Americans.
This includes the work, study and planned implementation of the Yucca
Mountain nuclear waste repository.
l
DOE has “approved” some new design
nuclear reactors that can be licensed and built within 4 years.
Individual states realizing the importance
nuclear energy expansion can expedite this process as well.
l l
Nuclear is the only credible source of
energy to produce high volume hydrogen . . . Michael Campbell –
General Atomics.
ll
5 years of adverse information about
Yucca Mountain / ECA Energy Communities Alliance, estimate that 30% of
Nevadans support Yucca / 4,000 Nevadans tour Yucca a year!
Andrew White
President-CEO GE Nuclear: We need to maximize the efficiency in the
extraction of ALL energy sources . . . in 2005 GE hired 250 new
engineers . . . GE is moving their Asian engineers to Wilmington NC
headquarters . . . even after a 20 year review, nuclear offers the
best alternative energy source. We need to build 20 new gigawatt nuclear
plants by 2020. GE Nuclear has the best safety record of “any”
GE business.

l
Can we refine, unite and deploy
grassroots organizations that will bring the message of nuclear energy
development to Americas citizens? We must!
l
Will the education of Americas citizens
about nuclear energy contribute to informed citizens who can influence the
media and political misconceptions about nuclear? Yes and they must!
